Les Arcs Ski Area

The Les Arcs ski area has a wide range of varied terrain with a little bit of everything for everyone. There are a total of 200km of pistes in the area served by 57 lifts many of which have been recently renovated to provide a quick and comfortable experience. The Les Arcs ski area is also linked to La Plagne to create the massive Paradiski area which has a total of 425km of piste – you automatically have access to a day over in La Plagne but can upgrade your pass on a day by day basis if required.

The backdrop to the ski area is stunning with the full range of alpine scenery, on a clear day you can see Mont Blanc across the valley. With a number of pistes over 2000m there is plenty of snowsure skiing although with a largely west facing aspect conditions can deteriorate quickly with warmer weather. Higher runs on the Aiguilles Rouges tend to be more shaded and conditions remain better for longer. The pisteurs have an excellent reputation for creating perfect pistes even under the hardest conditions and the resort is generally very well groomed.

If you would like to ski over to La Plagne area it costs approximately an extra €20 a day for the full paradiski pass.

Les Arcs Pistes

There is a wide variety of pistes for every level, the variety in Les Arcs is one of its biggest selling points. With a good network of modern and fast lifts getting about is easy and enjoyable. This resort is particularly good for intermediate skiers with a superb selection of cruising blues and challenging reds to keep you entertained. Advanced skiers are also well catered for with a number of and interesting and challenging black runs. Les Arcs is also famous for its speed track on which a number of world records have been set, for a small fee you can try your hand at it albeit from a slightly more reasonable height!

Les Arcs Off Piste

The off piste in Les Arcs is superb, and again there is great variety. The lower slopes offer some really nice tree skiing which is an excellent option for low visibility days, or in fact, any day. Around the Deux Tetes area there is an area known as the ‘rock garden’ which offers some fairly adventurous off piste with a number of drops in a variety of sizes, don’t forget to look before you leap! If you head over to the Aiguille Rouge area there are also plenty of big steep and scary descents for the really advanced skiers. If you are looking to develop your off piste skills then check out our off piste courses.

Les Arcs Snowparks

There is an excellent snowpark called the Apocolypse park just above Les Arc 1600 which is one of the biggest in Europe. It has an excellent selection of kickers, rails, boxs and tables as well as a nice hut at the bottom where you can chill out in the sun, eat some lunch or just watch the action. The park is serviced by its own dedicated T-Bar lift.

  • Lunch and dinner were epic. Buffet style with delicious and varied options each day and night. Not cheap foods either - Full roast chickens, ribs, roast beef, etc. Unreal!

  • No matter how hard you try, when you book everything separately (especially with the Euro and price of food at the moment), you will never beat UCPA.

  • The food offers great variety, choice (several options each night), quantity (as much as you want) and quality is decent (7/10). Cheese and yoghurts coming out of your ears, packed lunch option, afternoon...

  • There is always a range of ages, nationalities, mixtures of solo travellers, couples, groups etc. We have booked as a group of 6, a group of 36 (no joke) and even just me and my boyfriend – it works for all.

  • The food is PHENOMENAL at UCPA – brilliant for those with eyes bigger than their belly.

Firstly I would definitely recommend Action Outdoors. This is the 5th ski holiday I have been with them and they have always been very helpful even when I have had to change details of members of my party or cancel a person's booking who couldn't go.
