Fuerteventura

Translating literally as 'strong wind', Fuerteventura is a world renowned destination for surfing, windsurfing, and kite surfing. However these are not the only sports available; as a volcanic island with a unique climate referred to as 'eternal spring', the island is fascinating to explore by foot and bike.

Activities

Famous for it's kitesurfing and surfing, the center in Fuerteventura specialises in these sports. Participants are split into groups based on ability and all are welcome, from complete beginners to experts. But it's not all about those sports! The island has an amazing array of landscapes which are incredibly unique to this archipelago. Discovering the island on mountain bikes or by trekking is a great way to explore what there is to offer.

Local Town

UCPA Fuerteventura is located in the small town of Costa Calma, a ten minute drive from Sotavento Lagoon, the famous kitesurfing area.
The town is positioned at the beginning of the Jandia peninsula, aptly named 'calm coast', it provides one of the few sheltered coastal regions on the island - a perfect place to relax and escape the wind at the end of the day.

UCPA Centre

Instead of having a purpose built UCPA centre, in Fuerteventura UCPA use the Royal Suite Hotel. The hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the beach and bars in the area. Rooms are 2-3 beds shared between guests (twin rooms are available, enquire directly with the centre.) The hotel is 2* and is a perfect spot to relax after a day of activity.

  • The kit is top quality and new and there is a workshop for any adjustments or changes you may require during your week.

  • All UCPAs are very friendly and sociable. The bar and dining areas are open with big tables, encouraging people to sit together and get to know each other. This makes it very easy as a solo traveller.

  • The UCPA has its own bar which is slightly cheaper than anywhere else in the resort. It has a pool table, comfy seats and a good atmosphere.
    Ron H
  • The food provided was up to a very good standard for all meals with a soup starter available every dinner followed by two or three hot meal choices, a salad bar and a variety of tasty deserts and fruit.

  • There is always a range of ages, nationalities, mixtures of solo travellers, couples, groups etc.  We have booked as a group of 6, a group of 36 (no joke) and even just me and my boyfriend – it works for all.

  • The food is great and there is tons of it from breakfast, lunch, snack time (after your day on the slopes) and dinner in the evening. My favourite meal this year was on the Thursday evening when it was...
