El Gouna

An Egpytian tourist resort location 20km north of Hurghada. Situated on the Red Sea Riviera, the warm climate year-round makes it a great place for winter sun, where kitesurfing, scuba diving, snorkelling and SUP are some of the popular sports to practice.

Activities

The UCPA centre at El Gouna is a great place for learning or improving your sea sports in great weather, even during winter! As a specialist centre for scuba diving and kitesurfing, you can be well accommodated regardless of your level or experience. But if you fancy just relaxing, there is a fantastic infinity pool by the sea where you can put your feet up.

Local Town

A purpose-built resort town because of its natural beauty and unique climate, El Gouna is a modern town which holds on to its Egyptian heritage. Continuing the town’s aim of being a zero-waste town, and pursuing the objective of being carbon neutral, El Gouna is the perfect destination for the eco-conscious traveller.

UCPA Centre

Instead of having a purpose built UCPA centre, in El Gouna UCPA use the Dawar El Omda Hotel. Rooms are for two persons and are en-suite, with a small balcony or terrace. The infinity pool is a great place to relax after a day of sport, or to spend your free time when you have a day off from sport. If you want to explore in the evening, there are some bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away.

Testimonials

  • UCPAs are like an upmarket hostel. However, they are always comfortable and if you want to meet people, the rooms of 4-6 are a great way of doing so. Even better is most of the UCPAs have some twin rooms...

  • Alongside the excellent equipment, lessons, food and accommodation, the thing that brings me back year on year is the atmosphere, as made by the people who go to UCPA.
    Elliot B
  • There isn’t a part of UCPA that I don’t enjoy, it’s some of the best holidays I’ve had and going to have.
    Peter E
  • There is always a range of ages, nationalities, mixtures of solo travellers, couples, groups etc.  We have booked as a group of 6, a group of 36 (no joke) and even just me and my boyfriend – it works for all.
    Anna R
  • All UCPAs are very friendly and sociable. The bar and dining areas are open with big tables, encouraging people to sit together and get to know each other. This makes it very easy as a solo traveller.
    Anna R
  • The quality of the equipment is second to none and the ability to easily swap things over if they’re not quite right is so useful.
    Amelia S
  • Describing the UCPA is difficult. Not because there is a lack of adjectives to adequately convey the amount of fun you’ll have while you are there, the friendliness of the instructors, the quality of the food...
    Mark D
  • The food provided was up to a very good standard for all meals with a soup starter available every dinner followed by two or three hot meal choices, a salad bar and a variety of tasty deserts and fruit.
