Getting to Chamonix
By Air: Chamonix is just an hour’s drive from Geneva airport making it one of the most accessible ski resorts and the perfect location for short breaks. Easy Jet offers a regular and reasonably priced service to Geneva from a number of UK airports.
A great website to use when planning your trips is Rome to Rio, which gives you lots of options , costs and links to book various travel options: Rome2Rio
Airport Transfers: Our transfer partner Mountain Drop Offs provides a shared transfer option directly from Geneva airport to Chamonix. They have a dedicated desk at the airport which makes them easy to find. The 8 person minibuses are frequent and Mountain Drop Offs aim to have you on your way to resort within an hour, however this may vary during busy times and low season. This service is available from the 14th December to the 12th of April for flights between 9:30 to 21:00. A low season service will operate after the 12th of April however this will be less frequent and therefore you may have a longer wait upon arrival. To book a transfer just add it under travel options on the booking screen. The transfer takes 1.5hrs.
*Please note for shared transfers Mountain Drop offs will make every effort to wait for delayed flights, customers who are significantly delayed will be moved where possible to the next available transfer. Customers delayed beyond the last transfer may be placed on the first bus the following morning.
By Coach: Our partner company Snowexpress offers affordable and hassle free transport to the Alps, perfect for avoiding busy airports and peak season air fares! Snowexpress coaches travel through the night from London Victoria to resort arriving on time to hit the slopes on Saturday.
By Train: It is possible to reach Chamonix by train, the TER and TGV train services go to St Gervais which is 20km from Chamonix. From there you can take a local SNCF connection through to Chamonix town centre. We generally don’t recommend train travel due to ticket prices and the lack of a direct connection.
By Car: Chamonix is easily accessible by road with the Autoroute Blanche (A40) coming directly to Chamonix. The drive from the UK takes about 10 hours and goes through some nice scenery along the way but don’t forget to budget for French toll roads! The UCPA does not have any parking however there are some non-guarded spaces that you do need to pay for near to the centre. There are also other larger carparks around the town but these are further away. Parking information can be seen here.
