Other essentials

  • Towel (bedding is provided but towels are not provided)
  • French plug adapter to charge any electronic devices
  • Sunscreen (high factor) - really important to avoid sunburn in the mountains, especially on Easter trips.
  • Lip sunscreen protection
  • Travel insurance & EHIC card (check whether the school have arranged group travel insurance, or whether individual travel insurance is required. Note that an EHIC card only covers partial healthcare costs and is not a substitute for travel insurance and would not cover the costs of a mountain rescue.
  • Passport
  • Ear plugs (may be useful for the shared dorms!)
  • Water bottle – for the mountain and in your room
  • Toiletries
  • Small backpack for hand luggage/day trips
  • Spending money - the school may stipulate how much money each student should take, but as all of the food is included in the costs, only a small amount of spending money should be required for drinks or small souvenirs (if there is any time in the busy schedule to get to the shops!)
