Getting to Tamarin

By Air:
As Mauritius is an island in the Indian Ocean it can be accessed by air with daily direct flights from London to the island's main airport.

Shared transfers from the airport to the hotel can be organised with the staff. The journey is approximately 1hr long. Please notify the centre staff in advance and pay the transfer fee of approximately 60EUR return if you wish to use this service.

Private taxis are more expensive, usually around 100EUR return if you wish to use this service.

Testimonials

  • All UCPAs are very friendly and sociable. The bar and dining areas are open with big tables, encouraging people to sit together and get to know each other. This makes it very easy as a solo traveller.

  • UCPAs are like an upmarket hostel. However, they are always comfortable and if you want to meet people, the rooms of 4-6 are a great way of doing so. Even better is most of the UCPAs have some twin rooms...

  • Alongside the excellent equipment, lessons, food and accommodation, the thing that brings me back year on year is the atmosphere, as made by the people who go to UCPA.

  • The UCPA has its own bar which is slightly cheaper than anywhere else in the resort. It has a pool table, comfy seats and a good atmosphere.

  • Having never used UCPA before I was not sure what to expect but the week I spent there was absolutely fantastic and I genuinely can’t wait to go back.

  • Imagine moules mariniereier, steak (cooked how you like it) and paella just to name a few options during our week and you get a picture of how well fed you will be at UCPA.

  • Action Outdoors set up a personal group page and as a group leader, I did’t have to worry about taking everyone’s payments. Each group member is responsible to pay their own way through the group page directly to Action Outdoors. Win!

  • The food provided was up to a very good standard for all meals with a soup starter available every dinner followed by two or three hot meal choices, a salad bar and a variety of tasty deserts and fruit.
