Activities in Dakhla

The thin, sandy peninsula of Rio de Oro provide fantastic beaches and shallow, wide lagoons. Being well exposed to the Atlantic, Dakhla receives good, persistent wind throughout the year, as well as as an annual average temperature of 25°c.

You will have one day off during your week of activity. You can use this time to for a massage, enjoy the public Hamams, chill around the pool of the Tea House. UCPA will offer a must-visit to the famous white dunes, the hot springs and enjoy a meal at the oyster park. Ask reception for more information on these amazing trips.

Activities

Famous for it's kitesurfing and wind based sports, the centre in Dakhla specialises in kitesurfing.

Dakhla is an ideal destination for all levels of kitesurfers with more than 330 windy days a year. The lagoon is surrounded by stunning deserts and you may even come across some dolphins and flamingos as you are kiting along.

There are several surf areas; La Sarga, Point d'Or and Foumbouir. Foumbouir being the most famous as it often hosts world surfing and kitesurfing championships. The best time of year for surfing is October to April and luckily for kitesurfers it really is great all year round.

Participants are split into groups based on ability and all are welcome, from complete beginners to experts. You can use your free time throughout the week to explore the town or practise some other sports such as SUP or yoga.
