Lacanau Summer Activities


The Atlantic coast of France is a world-class surfing location and the long sandy beaches of the Aquitaine coastline are the ideal playground for surfers of all levels. Lacanau is a fantastic surfer’s town offering world class surf and a great selection of après surf bars to explore. Whether this is your first time on a board or you’re hoping to perfect your cut back, Lacanau has something to offer all surfers.


Golf du Baganais is located in Lacanau Ocean and has 9 holes (Par 27) situated amongst the pine trees. This course is ideal for beginners with many practice areas; driving range, putting green, chipping green and green wedging. The course is suitable for all levels with greens protected by numerous bunkers.

Up for a challenge? Golf Mejanne is for the more experience golfers and is a long course of 3200m with 9 holes (par 36). It is only accessible to players whose level of play is considered sufficient by the instructors. Golf carts are available for a small supplement.


The Lacanau centre offers a whole range of tennis courts on site with a range of surfaces so you can learn the effect this has on your game and enjoy playing in the sunshine before heading down to the beach to cool off.

With a professional tennis coach, you will learn to serve effectively, improve your forehand or backhand and concentrate on tactics and personal skills to improve your tennis game. Suitable for beginners through to advanced players.


Kite Surfing

Definitely not for the faint hearted, Kite Surfing is a great way to get the adrenalin pumping and push yourself to the max in the stunning location of Lacanau Ocean. Open for beginners through to experienced Kite Surfers. For those days with little wind, you can practice your skills wakeboarding which is perfect for learning good body positioning for water starts.
