Land Based

Hiking/trekking - Take in the spectacular mountainous views, explore cultural sites near your UCPA centre, gentle hikes along the coastlines and through forests. Just a few examples of how you can enjoy the sights by foot with UCPA.

Mountain biking - Experience riding on an impressive variety of trails and trails with amazing mountainous backdrop.

Horse Riding - UCPA horses are carefully selected and trained under saddle to be suitable for beginners. In some cases the horses are kept on a long rein while you are learning how to control and handle the horse. If you have ridden before you will be able to practise and perfect your technique and discover new equine activities; Horse ball, vaulting, jumping etc.

Yoga- is a form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to help mental health and physical well being.

White water activities - Canyoning is where you descend down a river in canyons by various techniques; sliding down waterfalls, abseiling, jumping off rocks and swimming. White water rafting is where you use an inflatable raft to navigate down a white water river. Hydrospeed is when you lie on a board and use fins for steering and propulsion down a white water river.

Climbing - Climbing combines physical strength with mental focus, figuring out moves as you go, and then using power, agility and flexibility to reach the top of routes.

Via Ferrata and Zipline - is a mix between climbing and scrambling. The route fixations are attached to cliffs in varying ways such as steel steps, ladders or wooden walkways and you attach yourself on to these via a leash that is attached to a harness.

At sea

Kitesurfing - Kitesurfing is a sport that requires two natural resources, wind and water. This watersport doesn't have to be on big waves or choppy water, you can enjoy this sport on mirror-flat lagoons.

Surfing - This sport involves three things, water, waves and balance. There’s nothing quite like the experience of catching one of nature’s forces, the breaking wave!

Windsurfing - Windsurfing is a form of sailing, where a board is powered across the water by the wind. You stand on a board, holding a sail (which is attached to the board) and steer by adjusting the position of the sail and moving your feet.

Sea Kayaking - Explore the coastline by nimble sea kayaks to reach otherwise inaccessible beaches and coves.

Catamaran Sailing - Catamaran Sailing, or 'Cat Sailing' for short is the fastest, most exciting form of small boat sailing.

Scuba Diving -  Scuba diving allows a diver to explore at much greater depths than snorkelling does. A scuba diver can be completely independent of the water’s surface and breathe underwater as they explore via an air supply system.

Wakeboarding - A wakeboard is a short board with foot bindings that is towed behind a speed boat or can be done at a cable park. You ride the wake behind the boat, hence the name!

Stand Up Paddle boarding- You do use a buoyant type of surfboard, however you stand on the board and use a paddle to proper yourself through the water.

Yoga - is a form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to help mental health and physical well being.

Can you pick the activities?

You cannot tailor the activities on your holiday individually, however the great thing is that there are lots of different destinations and different types of multi activity week available at UCPA, so you should be able to find the one that suits you the best. With some multi-sports weeks you will discuss with your instructor what activities you’d prefer to do as a group. The weather can also affect which sports you do throughout your week, but there will be plenty of choices available whatever the weather.

Are you in the same accomodation for the whole week?

Yes, you will be in the same UCPA centre destination for the whole week. There may be some away days and nights, depending on the activity, but this will usually be included in your holiday package (please check your typical itinerary). Most UCPA centres have access to a huge range of sports equipment on site, so it would only be if you have to travel to a canyon for example or a via ferrata route.

Is there any free time?

yoga
There is plenty of free time on a multisport week yes. Most days you do one activity in the morning or afternoon and then relax for the rest of the day. Some days will be full days out, but there will definitely be time for you to explore the area with friends or relax on the beach.
