Port D’Albret

Vieux Boucau Port D’Albret is a world class surf destination and the perfect spot for those who love their sand, sea and surf.

Port D’Albret offers ideal conditions for sports and relaxation near the lake and the ocean on the extreme south of the Landes coast, close to Biarritz and Hossegor. It is surrounded by beautiful pine forests providing welcome relief from the sun on the beautiful 9 hole golf course.

The lake, which is known as the ‘Lac Marin de Port d’Abret’ used to be home to a working port. However this has not been the case since the 17th century after the river Adour was re routed to Bayonne. Today the lake is shared by Vieux Boucau on the North side and Soustons Plage on the South, West and East and can be used for water sports at all times.

Since 1930 tourism in Vieux Boucau has grown rapidly however the village has still retained its initial atmosphere and size.

The town centre is buzzing with cafés, bars, restaurants and shops. There are nearby trails and forest walks and horse riding is available along the beach. There is an aquatic centre with a 25m pool and a leisure pool, spa and sauna.

  • No matter how hard you try, when you book everything separately (especially with the Euro and price of food at the moment), you will never beat UCPA.
