Hyères is known as the palm capital of the world and it exports over 100,000 palm trees each year as well as a number of other exotic plant species. Palm trees form an important part of Hyères and can be regularly seen throughout the resort lining the wide boulevards. There is a great variety of Mediterranean architecture around Hyères including a number of exotic hotels and villas which lend the resort a Moorish feel.

There is a stunning old town in Hyères with a wonderful selection of medieval buildings which is well worth a visit. The old town is a dream location for architecture lovers with stunning Gothic churches, renaissance doorways and beautiful châteaus all set against stunning sea views. You are also near the incredible island of Porquerolles and the Port-Cros national park which is a must visit.

The UCPA Hyères is set in a beautiful location in a pine forest right on the beach overlooking the Iles d'Or. The accomodation itself is a little tired but the outdoor area certainly makes up for it! The centre has a wonderful restaurant and bar right on the beach with idylic sea views. Outside the centre there is a tennis court and volley ball court. The centre has a fleet of quality watersport equipment including catamarans, windsurfs, kite surfs and sea kayaks.

All UCPA meals are buffet style and with multiple servings the norm; you won't go hungry.

Breakfast is normally yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, coffee and bread - don't be surprised to see that the coffee and tea is taken in a bowl!

It is possible to return to the centre for lunch everyday where you will find 1 or 2 hot options available. As with all meals there will be a salad bar, plenty of bread, cheese, meat and of course desert. If you prefer you can make a packed lunch at breakfast time and eat on the mountain. Either way you will save a fortune avoiding the piste side restaurants.

Dinner is a 3/4 course buffet - typically a salad bar style starter, a choice of 3 hot main courses, a cheese and cold meat platter and ice cream/dessert.

Due to the cost focussed nature of UCPA and the wide range of dietary requirements, it is impossible to accommodate everyone as standard. If you have any severe dietary requirements please contact the centre two weeks before to let them know. Generally speaking vegetarians will find plenty of options, with vegan options being a little more scarce but improving year on year.
