The ski area consists of two resorts, Valloire and Valmeinier. It is the largest ski area in the Maurienne ski area. Valloire covers 150km of piste and a ski range of between 1430m to 2595m with 56 blue runs, 30 red and 9 black runs.

Valloire is perfectly based at the foot of the mountains and has fast access to the two ski areas straight from the resort. In terms of ability, the area is best suited to beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

For beginners, it is an ideal location as there is a nursery slope right in the centre of the village and one also at higher altitude. There is a great network of blue runs in the ski are meaning that you can ski big distances even as a beginner. There are over 86 runs that are designed for intermediates so it really is a great resort for this standard of skier. There is not a huge amount of skiing for experts and advanced skiers and boarders, but there is some great off piste skiing to be found on the Valmeinier side. There are just 9 black runs in the whole area, so if you want more this may not be the resort for you.

Valloire is a great place for families as there is so much going on. Valloire is such a small, traditional charming resort but has a fitness centre with sauna and jacuzzi, bowling lane and cinema. It’s also possible togive paragliding a go or go for a mountain walk in snowshoes. The shops are limited to classic ski resort souvenir shops and mainly ski equipment, but there is enough for a good wander. UCPA Valloire is located very near to the Moulin Benjamin chairlift making getting on to the slopes very accessible.

The UCPA centre in Valloire is a very nice centre receiving a high UCPA comfort rating. The centre is very well located just outside of the town centre and a stone's throw from the slopes.

All UCPA meals are buffet style and with multiple servings the norm; you won't go hungry.

Breakfast is normally yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, coffee and bread - don't be surprised to see that the coffee and tea is taken in a bowl!

It is possible to return to the centre for lunch everyday where you will find 1 or 2 hot options available. As with all meals there will be a salad bar, plenty of bread, cheese, meat and of course desert. If you prefer you can make a packed lunch at breakfast time and eat on the mountain. Either way you will save a fortune avoiding the piste side restaurants.

Dinner is a 3/4 course buffet - typically a salad bar style starter, a choice of 3 hot main courses, a cheese and cold meat platter and ice cream/dessert.

Due to the cost focussed nature of UCPA and the wide range of dietary requirements, it is impossible to accommodate everyone as standard. If you have any severe dietary requirements please contact the centre two weeks before to let them know. Generally speaking vegetarians will find plenty of options, with vegan options being a little more scarce but improving year on year.

By car

Take the A43 motorway to Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne then 18 km to Valloire.

There are some car parking spaces in the centre (25 places), approx €30 per week (not bookable in advance). There are other parking lots in town and outside of the town centre - contact the local tourist information for more information about these.
