Les Deux Alpes
Les Deux Alpes takes its name from the twin villages of Venosc and Mont de Lan which make up the '2 alpes' resort, linked by a 2km road lined with vibrant hotels and bars

Snow sure rating
The ski area has a total of 60 lifts (including the world’s highest funicular and the world’s fastest gondola) which give access to 220km of piste, 1400ha of skiable off piste terrain, Europe’s largest skiable glacier and Europe’s largest snow park. There is a good spread of varied terrain for all ability levels from beginner skiers and snowboarders through to experts of varying disciplines, it is a fantastic resort for mixed ability groups.
Les Deux Alpes is often called an ‘upside down’ resort with harder steeper skiing lower down and wide easy runs higher up on the glacier. It’s a great place to learn where beginners can enjoy the high mountain views and better snow conditions usually reserved for advanced skiers. For the experts there are plenty of challenging pistes with as many black runs as red runs and the off piste is vast and varied including links to the infamous ‘La Grave’ ski area, which needs no introduction.
If big air is your thing then Les Deux Alpes is the place for you. The resort lays claim to the largest snow park in Europe. The park includes the usual array of kickers, tables, pipes, step ups and rollers as well as a massive 120m super pipe and two boarder-cross courses.
The village of Venosc (where the UCPA centre is located) has more character of the two villages and also has the majority of the bars and restaurants as well as less through traffic. The resort is on the doorstep of the Ecrins National park and benefits from stunning views and scenery.
The Les Deux Alpes nightlife is very good and it is a strong contender for best party scene in the Alps. The multitude of restaurants, bars and clubs along the 2km 'strip' between the two villages has often been likened to the Las Vegas 'strip'.
UCPA Les Deux Alpes is in a fabulous location just 100m from the ski area and a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. The centre is a large wood and stone traditional alpine chalet style building. The restaurant is of particular note with a stunning terrace overlooking the Ecrins National Park. Plus it also has a sauna and jacuzzi for those that need a bit of pampering after a hard day on the hill!

All UCPA meals are buffet style and with multiple servings the norm; you won't go hungry.
Breakfast is normally yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, coffee and bread - don't be surprised to see that the coffee and tea is taken in a bowl!
It is possible to return to the centre for lunch everyday where you will find 1 or 2 hot options available. As with all meals there will be a salad bar, plenty of bread, cheese, meat and of course desert. If you prefer you can make a packed lunch at breakfast time and eat on the mountain. Either way you will save a fortune avoiding the piste side restaurants.
Dinner is a 3/4 course buffet - typically a salad bar style starter, a choice of 3 hot main courses, a cheese and cold meat platter and ice cream/dessert.
Due to the cost focussed nature of UCPA and the wide range of dietary requirements, it is impossible to accommodate everyone as standard. If you have any severe dietary requirements please contact the centre two weeks before to let them know. Generally speaking vegetarians will find plenty of options, with vegan options being a little more scarce but improving year on year.
