It’s the same great deal just shorter so you can squeeze in up to 4 days on the slopes without using up all your holidays! The UCPA packages are perfect for people trying to make the most of the little time they have. When going on a short break snowboard holiday, you want minimal hassle and maximum time on the mountain. The UCPA concept really lends itself to a hassle free snowboard trip; Everything is handled in house – equipment hire, instruction, all meals, lift passes, allowing for a straightforward experience where you can focus on snowboard time and socialising, rather than having to think about buying lift passes, finding equipment hire and snowboard schools etc.

All of the UCPA centres offer a 'no instruction' short break package.

There are also specific beginner snowboard short breaks available, perfect for those keen to give it a go without a week long commitment.

Experienced snowboarders keen to improve or make the most of the instructor's local knowledge can select one of the instructed packages. There are regular instruction and split boarding courses available.

As tempting as it might be to teach yourself to snowboard or request the assistance of friends who are ‘experienced’ snowboarders, we do not recommend it! You are on holiday and so are they! It is a surefire way to test friendships and relationships that's for sure.

The quickest way to find your feet, gain control and confidence so that your friends are keen to spend their afternoons with you is that you sign up to beginner snowboard classes. A great way to prepare for a trip later in the season is to do a short break instructed weekend so that your next trip is much more enjoyable.

To make the most of time on the mountains we would always suggest UCPA resorts with a short airport transfer time for short breaks. Most of the UCPA centres do offer short breaks, but we would say that the best resorts are Flaine, Chamonix, Argentiere as they have just an hours transfer from Geneva airport. This means less time travelling and more time on your snowboard.

Throughout the year you will notice price differences, which reflect the most popular and less popular weeks. The cheaper weeks do mean that the pistes will be quieter although the nightlife won’t be quite as lively. Typically early and late in the season can be a bit of a gamble with regards to snow cover, however this is reflected in the price. From early to mid season the weather can be typically quite moody but the snow is soft and fluffy. Mid season (generally February and March) the snow can be a bit icy in the mornings and really cold, but the days are beginning to get longer and the weather more stable. By April the weather is a bit warmer and the days are longer, but the snowpack does start to reduce.
