The Espace Killy ski area is truly massive boasting an amazing 96 lifts which give access to over 300km of piste. The terrain is varied offering something for everyone making it a great location for mixed ability groups. An effort has been made to cater for everyone in the Esapce Killy from special speed restricted ‘Tranquil’ zones for beginners to the world cup pistes and increasingly popular ‘Naturide’ runs for experts (special non-pisted runs within the patrolled area). In addition to the fantastic piste network the Espace Killy offers one of the largest lift served off-piste areas in the world, there is more than enough to keep even the most adventurous skiers entertained.
The village of Val d’Isere is compact and attractive managing to offer the functionality and organisation of developed resort with the charm of a mountain village. There are a good range of shops and services on offer and the bus network to the lifts puts other resorts to shame. The resort attracts a young and trendy crowd who enjoy their snow sports and partying in equal quantities. The nightlife is outstanding with a wealth of top notch bars and regular events to keep things interesting.
UCPA Val d'Isere
The UCPA centre is Val d’Isere is very well located just a couple of minutes walk from the bars and shops. The centre is a large traditional chalet which can sleep 250 people and has plenty of the usual UCPA extras like a bar and dining room, it even has its own surprisingly good and ever popular nightclub. The lifts and ski area are easily accessible by bus with the nearest stop a mere 20m away and buses every 10 minutes throughout the day.
