Les Contamines Town Centre

In the heart of the Mont Blanc region at the end of a stunning valley lies the picturesque town of Les Contamines-Montjoie. Although it hosts a surprising amount of fantastic ski terrain around a huge undulating bowl, it is still a secret gem within the Haute Savoie region of France. The farming town has a much more authentic feel to it than the larger purpose built ski resorts and if you are after a relaxing week enjoying some great skiing followed by a nice glass of wine in the evening, then Les Contamines offers you just this.

The town has a friendly tourist office which will advise you on evening activities should you want to experience night time skiing, dog sledding and snowshoeing, a post office, a few gift shops and a range of bars and restaurants, that’s about it. However, the UCPA is large and offers its own evening entertainment as well as an indoor climbing wall , spa and nightclub.

Les Contamines Nightlife

The nightlife in Les Contamines does have a relaxed feel to it. The majority of bars are aimed at the more civilised crowds. However, there are definitely a few livelier venues such as Tetras, Ty Briez and Saxo which will all keep you entertained until the early hours.

  • No matter how hard you try, when you book everything separately (especially with the Euro and price of food at the moment), you will never beat UCPA.

  • Lunch and dinner were epic. Buffet style with delicious and varied options each day and night. Not cheap foods either - Full roast chickens, ribs, roast beef, etc. Unreal!

  • There is always a range of ages, nationalities, mixtures of solo travellers, couples, groups etc. We have booked as a group of 6, a group of 36 (no joke) and even just me and my boyfriend – it works for all.
