Les Contamines Resort
The resort of Les Contamines Montjoie is in the French Alps, nestled amongst the vast peaks of the Mont Blanc Massif mountain range. During the summer, the village is a hive of activity. Hikers, mountain bikers, mountaineers, rock climbers, white water rafters and paragliders make it their base from which to take on various challenges in the surrounding peaks.
It is not all about extreme adventures, the Les Contamines Montejoie Nature Reserve is a beautiful setting for hiking and walking, and generally soaking up the relaxing environment of the mountains. The lakes are filled with melt-water from the surrounding snow-capped peaks, and make for a very refreshing swim.
Average temperatures during the summer remain around 18C from June until late August - a perfect temperature for al fresco salsa dancing!
Other things to do
Tennis, bicycle hire, volleyball, swimming pool, petanque. Beautiful walks through the mountain paths and forest and mountain bike rides are possible from UCPA, just ask at reception for a map! There are over a hundred kilometres of cycle paths through the forests, mountains and lakes.
