Kitesurfing is basically flying a kite whilst attached to a surf board - we can’t offer much more adrenaline than this – the air time looks amazing and the tricks extreme. Recognised in 1998 with only 30 enthusiasts, kitesurfing is the quickest growing sport ever. However, it doesn’t come without its dangers hence a week learning the sport in warm water and sun, within a beautiful setting is obviously a good starting block for beginners. For those that have had the opportunity to become proficient / experienced kiters, then a week fine tuning your technique in these fantastic locations is one not to be missed.
Definitely not for the faint hearted, this is a great way to get the adrenalin pumping and enjoy the sea.
You will learn the basics of launching and landing the kite, where the power zone is and how to fly the kite to generate more power. On the water you well get into body dragging and water starting before progressing on to planing, getting upwind and hopefully gybing too. If there is no wind then you can practice wakeboarding, which is perfect for learning good body positioning for water starts.
You will use twin tip boards with kites from F-One, all modern in design and in good condition.
The instruction involves 5 half day sessions, alternating morning and afternoon. Beginners may share 1 kite between 2 people so they can help each other launch and recover the kite. Conditions are best for beginners / intermediates as the winds tend to be gentle in the mornings and pick up in the afternoons.
Half-time Instruction gives you the opportunity to take advantage of both the instructor's advice and also spend time with friends.
Lessons are on the lake in the afternoon for the best conditions: kite-surfing "downwind" (you will be taken upwind by boat and surf downwind by kite!). Possibility of "mixer" with wakeboarding in terms of level and the conditions.
This is certainly the best way to learn to kite-surf. Instruction is top level, and progress can be made very quickly if you are determined and fit!
This is open for complete beginners to advanced kite-surfers. The intensity of the program is quite strong so a good level of fitness is recommended.
Free of Charge: tennis, swim in sea, volley-ball, bicycle hire, stretching classes, petanque
